Ruotsalainen Sparthlon-voittaja Rune Larsson on myös kovan luokan taidekriitikko, kommentti löytyy Spartathlon 2006 videosta 40 minuutin kohdalta. Näin hän arvioi kuvataidetta:I'm not a great judge of art, such as sculpture or statues, and whatever you can make out of bronze. But I'll tell you one thing: The most beutiful piece of art on this planet is the statue of King Leonidas, in the eyes of a runner who has run all the way from Athens just to touch that statue.Toivottavasti voin parin viikon kuluttua vahvistaa kokemuksen syvällä rintaäänellä, että Rune on oikeassa.
